1-07-08     0408     Units were dispatched to 569 Main Street in Weston for the GARAGE FIRE. Engine 582 arrived on location and found a working fire, with heavy fire showing from the attic. 1.75 handline was placed in service and crew knocked down the fire quickly. Ladder 581 arrived and went to the roof for ventilation and assisted with Ext. and overhaul. Incident was held to a First Alarm. Units O/S: L581, E582, T585, T587, E9-10. C581 with command.

1-08-07     2012     Dispatched to 1465 Rock Glen Road for the reported HOUSE FIRE. Fire was reported in the panel box. 2nd call from County stating a working fire and the residents are refusing to leave because they are trying to remove personal belongings. Engine and Ladder arrived at the same time to find smoking showing from the residence. Entry made into a residence and the fire was quickly Ext. and the residence was ventilated and overhaul performed. The residence did use a dry chem to keep the fire contatined until the department arrival. Incident was held to a first alarm with a 2nd alarm standby. Units O/S: L581, E582, T585, T587, Sugarloaf E2, T1, Nuremberg EMS.

1-11-08     0127     Dispatched to 1218 Rock Glen Road for the MVA with injuries. C582 arrived to find 1 car into the guardrail, very minor damage. Units O/S:E582, Nuremberg EMS, Medic 26

1-12-08     1032     Dispatched to 1894 Tomhicken Road at Zacks Rock Glen Manor for an AFA. Upon signing on the air C582 was advised call is being upgraded to a Structure Box. 2nd call reported smoke coming from an emergency light possible fire in the walls. Full first alarm was requested along with the Zacks 2nd alarm on standby (see box 5). Engine 582 first arriving reported light smoke condition on the first floor, building was evacuated upon the departments arrival. Upon investigating fire was found in the emergency light. Light was removed from the wall and walls checked with no extension found. C582 had fire command and Nuremberg EMS Chief 980 had ems command. Units O/S:E582, L581, T587, Nuremberg ems, Medic 26, Sugarloaf E2, T1 cx enroute.

1-13-08     1057     Dispatched to 1920 Tomhicken Road for the reported HOUSE FIRE, reported smoke in the basement. E582 arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the rear of the residence. one 1.75 line was advanced and personnel had a quick knock on the fire once it was located in the basement. Extensive ventilation was performed by Ladder 581 along with overhaul. After some investigating the fire was located about a mile off of Brandon Street on top of the Sheppton Mountain. Units Operated from approx 2 hrs. 6-15-08     2146     Dispatched to the area of Harmes Funeral Home on the Rock Glen Road for an mva with Entrapment. Reported to be 2 subjects unresponsive. C581 arrived and reported 1 pt heavily entrapped. E582 arrived and started to stabilize the vehicle and placed the Spreaders and Cutters in service followed by the Sugarload Rescue who also placed multiple tools in service. L581 responded and secured the LZ. The pt was extricated in about 20 Mins and Flown to the GMC Shock Trauma. Units O/S: E582, L581, Sugarloaf Rescue, Nuremberg EMS x 2, Medic 26 & PSP.

6-16-08     2100     Silent Alarm for the Tree Down on the Tank Road. Units O/S: C582

6-19-08     1937     Dispatched to the Nurembeg Mt for the Investigation for the possible Brush Fire. Units O/S:C581, C582

6-19-08     At approx 2300 hours the sound of gun shoots rang out in the 700 Block of Main Street. Multiple police units converged on the area and secured the scene after an unknown subject fired multiple shots out the window of his vehicle towards a residence. Within a short time later additional police units were requested to the Tomhicken Road. Turns out a motorist driving down the road was shoot at multiple times and had his vehicle hit numerous times. The subject was taken into custody. The department provided traffic control at the request of PD, shutting down Main Street.

6-20-08     0846     Dispatched to Tower Rd + Mt Rd for the MVA with reported Entrapment. The location was changed multiple times. E582 arrived to find Nescopeck Twp Engine on scene along with Sugarloaf Rescue. E582 was held in staging for the possible LZ. Pt was then transported by ground, E582 released. Incident was located in Nescopeck Twp. Units O/S:E582, L581 (LZ standby at the golf course), Nescopeck Twp Engine, Sugarloaf Rescue, Nuremberg EMS x 2, Medic 26, Micu 90, Nescopeck EMS.

7-04-08     1648     Dispatched as part of the first alarm along with Hazle Twp and District 9 for the reported Commercial Structure Fire at 1075 Valley of The Lakes in Eagle Rock. 2nd call back reported fire out. All units were held in quarters with the exception of Hazle Twp. All apparatus was manned in quarters.

7-05-08     2100 The department provided standby coverage for the Eagle Rock Fire Works. Units O/S: E582, B586

7-12-08     1755     Dispatched to 157 Millers Road for the Wilderness Rescue as the result of a fall from a Cliff. E582 arrived to be meet by bystanders who stated a 14yr old male fell approx 60 feet. The engine Crew walked approx a 1/2 mile with the stokes and qrs equipment to find a severally injured male who fell straighte down between 50-60 Feet and was suffering from multiple fractures. Airmedical was Launched with the Engine and additional manpower going to the Red Ridge Camp Ground to Est the LZ for Medevac 7. The pt was packaged and extricated to a 4 wheel drive vehicle and then brought out to the awaiting EMS unit. Units O/S: E582, Nuremberg Ems, Shenandoah ALS

While enroute the incident was unfounded at the reported location, a second call stated the accident was on the Tomhicken Road. The engine + ladder arrived at the same time to find no entrapment, 1 injury on the scene with wires down. The ladder was cut lose and established a Landing Zone at the Nuremberg Park for Life FLight 5. Units Operated for about 4 Hours. Units O/S: E582, L581, Nuremberg EMS, Medic 26.

 

8-10-08     2000     Dispatched for the Ladder at the request of C581 to the intersection of Main + Mahanoy Streets for the Lightning strike investigation. As severe storms moved threw the area, the Luthern Church had its steeple struck. L581 laddered the building and found no evidence of fire just damage to the steeple. Units operated for about 45 mins. Units O/S: L581.

9-30-08     1912     Dispatched to 1251 Scotch Valley Drive in Beaver Twp Columbia County for a MVA with ENTRAPMENT assiting Beaver Township. Upon arrival units found a vehicle into a garage with Multiple Injuries. 1 patient was a Class 5 on the scene and still located in the vehicle. 5 additonal patients were found outside the vehicle. Crews assisted treating and packaging all the patients. 1 Patient was FLown to Shock Trauma were he passed away a few days. The rest were transported to other local trauma centers. All of the patients were high school kids under the age of 18. Units O/S: E582, E141(Beaver Twp), E217(Main Twp), Nuremberg EMS, Bloomsburg Micu 61, Medic 1, Catawissia Amb 50.
